It a beautiful, multi-use approach. Alternatively, since your foam pieces are like a Lego assembly, you could just push the machine away from you, foam and all, lay an additional piece of rectangular foam, the with of your choice, in front of it. Then just drape the plastic over it The table stays evenly blue, and your machine cutouts remain perfectly in place

Exactly! I love how flexible the whole system is and I still use it, although I've switched to using sticky contact paper on the foam and ditched the vinyl. Thank you for your note :)

    • @insidealaska8377

Hi Annette, I can't name a brand because they keep changing, depending on where you buy it--same with the model number. Lowes, Home Depot, Costco, Sam's Club, WalMart all have sold the table. Lifetime is a brand I buy regularly, but they have many designs. The most important feature about table I love is that the support brackets are at each leg/corner of the table, NOT 2 large side brackets (my knees hit that kind!) and that folds in half, with a carry handle. Lifetime 4428 is one model but be sure to check the support brackets. There should be 4, one at each corner/leg.

Hi Christina, I hope you like the method. I have lots of blog posts on our website and videos here on YT with tips, but the best one I can give you is to not expect perfection, especially when stitching the top strip down. Also, when sewing the strips on, you need to use a much wider seam than 1/4". We call it our "Fat quarter inch" LOL. My best, Marguerita

Hi Angelia, I pick up used office chairs at the Salvation Army, Goodwill and on Craigslist. I won't buy one unless it has 3 adjustment handles or buttons: height, tilt and back, plus a strong spring (bounce). If you can invest in a new one, try Office Depot or a store like that and don't judge by the looks, go by how it feels. I try to shop when I'm tired because I can tell right away if somethings comfortable or not when I'm worn out :)

Hello Marguerita. Thank you for this video. I have never done quilting, but I am interested in sewing machines and typically makes some measurements on them. I am preparing a video about foot pressure, and a part of that is to measure the down force on foot with instruments. In this process, I discovered, that for more sewing machines you cannot make the foot pressure low, when the foot is about 4 mm up due to fabric. So I guess such machines may be a problem for quilting unless such a machine is modified. Of cause oiling of the presser bar is important too. Do you have a comment to that?

Thank you for posting this video. I've tried this, can't see how I can add a photo so I can't show you. The only thing that isn't quiet right for me is the height of the seat. But compared to the cost of an adjustable table circa £150 this cost me around £90 for the table, lamp, pvc sheet and a better extension cable. I already had the foam... its not as stable as blue foam insulation, this is memory foam. But I figured I'd try to use this first and see how it feels while I look for the right foam. Thank you
